Project Synopsis

I worked as a Junior Builder on the Monster High music video set to a song by Lady Gaga, contributing to the construction of bold, sparkly, abstract geometric environments that defined the video’s look. As part of the build team, I helped bring these stylized sets to life through hands-on fabrication, supporting a highly graphic, fashion-forward aesthetic that matched the energy and attitude of both the music and the Monster High brand. The project was a fast-paced, collaborative build that emphasized visual impact, texture, and playful design.

The Monster High Sets

These portfolio images showcase a series of miniature sets built for the Monster High music video “Gaga for Ghouls.” The environments were designed as bold, abstract worlds—highly geometric compositions that blend flat graphic planes with sculpted three-dimensional elements. Sharp angles, layered shapes, and graphic silhouettes create a playful sense of scale, all carefully staged to camera using forced perspective to make the miniature builds feel expansive and dynamic.

The sets embrace a heightened, stylized aesthetic that matches the energy of the video: graphic, colorful, and unapologetically fun. By combining practical miniature craftsmanship with clever optical tricks, each setup transforms simple materials into striking visual moments that feel larger than life. The result is a collection of imaginative, camera-driven environments that celebrate experimentation, strong design, and the joy of building playful worlds by hand.
