“Pesticide”
This strip was inspired by Rachel Carson’s groundbreaking environmental book “Silent Spring,” which documents the catastrophic misuse of industrial insecticides in the rural United States. Government agencies would typically spray these insecticides with little regard for the animals and humans in an area, often poisoning the environment irreparably, all to kill off bugs that posed little to no threat of agricultural endangerment. The parallels it drew to the world Around me inspired this. Enjoy, and think about the role you play in protecting the fragile world we live in!
